Bothnian Bay Life - Technical report on the Bothnian Bay 3D-water quality and ecosystem model

The objective of this Bothnian Bay model subproject was to develop an integrated 3D flow, water quality and eutrophication model applied to the region in order to assess, simulate and visualise the effects of loads from rivers, industry, municipalities and other sources on the Bothnian Bay.

The first part of this Technical Report gives descriptions of the mathematical basics of the model. It is also described how the model applications are verified to the existing data. Assessments about the limits and the reliability of the model are given. The main part of the report is presenting the simulation results of each application and gives an example how to use the ecosystem model. The scenarios give examples of what kind of problems can be simulated by the model.
