CD4WC - Multi-criteria evaluation framework for the application of effective economic instruments on urban wastewater sources

This report has evaluated the design of appropriate economic instruments best suited for control of wastewater discharges, using existing scientific knowledge on the characteristics and the properties of each instrument with regard to the relevant environmental policy fields. As a result, a simple but scientific rigorous process for designing appropriate instruments has been developed. The document reports on a multi-criteria evaluation framework for economic instruments that systematically takes into account the particular characteristics of case studies. Emphasis is given towards the selection of the most appropriate economic instruments for an effective wastewater pollution control.
