INCA - Integrated nitrogen model for european catchments
Start date of the project:
28/02/2002
End date of the project:
31/03/2003
The INCA project is based on the INCA (Integrated Nitrogen in Catchments) model, a processed based representation of plant/soil system and instream nitrogen dynamics. The INCA project aims to use the model to assess the nitrogen dynamics in key European ecosystems.
The work will involve the investigation of the likely impacts of environmental change on streamwater N concentrations and loads, both in the individual ecosystems and at the pan European scale. Furthermore, the results from the modelling work will be linked to economic models to assess the monetary costs of environmental degradation caused by N in rivers and the feasibility of harmonising N regulation policies across Europe.
