GENESIS - Impacts and threats to groundwater

This GENESIS report presents an overview of impacts and threats to typical ground waters (GWs) and groundwater dependent ecosystems (GDEs) within the Genesis project test sites. They are described in detail on (i) groundwater dynamics, recharge and water balance of groundwater systems, (ii) substances leaching to groundwater aquifers due to different land-uses and (iii) groundwater dependent ecosystems interacting with surface water.

The test sites are spread over Europe: Grue (Norway), Koycegiz-Dalyan (Turkey), Caretti (Italy), Feucherolles (France), Murtal (Austria), Zagreb (Croatia), Vosvozis (Greece), Mancha Oriental (Spain), Areuse (Switzerland), Czestochowa (Poland), Bitterfeld (Germany), Po valley (Italy), and Kromme Rijn (The Netherlands).
