CLIMAWARE - Case study1: Hydromorphology
For the project CLIMAWARE a case study on hydro-morphology was carried out in the basins of the rivers Eder and Fulda (Germany). The impact of climate change on the these regional river systems was investigated, e.g. in relation to indications for the adjustment and the continuity of the river basin management plans based on the WFD considering hydro-morphology (renaturation), hydrological regime (management of dams). An hydraulic parameter analysis was carried using a hydrodynamic 2D numerical model (e. g. water levels, flow velocity, flood area and shear stresses). There is ongoing development of planning tools and methodical approaches.
