Scenario development is an important way of dealing with uncertainty. Scenarios are defined here as autonomous or exogenous environmental, demographic, socio-economic, political-institutional, technological trends and developments. Typically, scenario uncertainty implies that some possible outcomes are foreseen or known, but not their probability of occurrence. (see 4.
