- 1. Geographical and socio-economc features of the Sebou basin, Morocco

The basin of Sebou forms a basin between Rif in North, the middle Atlas and the meseta in the south, the corridor Fès - Taza in the East and the Atlantic Ocean in the West. The basin has a surface of approximately 40.000 km2; it is one of the most important basins in Morocco and contains a total population of almost 6.2 million inhabitants (census of 2004). It has agricultural and industrial activities which contribute in an important way to the national economy.
